Dallas Trip

We got to do a mini family getaway to Dallas last weekend. We were able to stay at the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas for free (Thank You Lindsay)! The hotel was built in 1912 and has had several big celebrities visit including U2 and the Queen of England.

Enter, the Gays! We all loved the hotel, and while the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating I'm sure they were glad to see us and our very loud kids off! The kids were not terribly disruptive, just loud! There was no way to stifle their excitement! Joshua said he thought Dallas was "wonderful"! Our first night there we walked around downtown and admired all of the Christmas decorations and lighting.

We got to visit briefly with Jon and Lindsay the next day which is always a treat since we don't get to see them too often. We went to the train exhibit which was very impressive and then had a bite to eat!

Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head home! This was our first trip of the year and likely our last for 2008! Hopefully we will be able to do more traveling next year!

I could not get Riley to look at the camera so this is the best one of our three downtown!

One of the many cool window displays at Nieman Marcus. This tree was made entirely out of pencils!

Once again, getting all three to look at the camera at the same time failed! This is front of the big Christmas tree at the hotel.

This is the train exhibit. Each section was done with amazing detail. Several of the train cars were decorated by their donors representing families, individuals, and companies.
Jon proudly sported his train conductor hat!

Riley was happy to let Lindsay hold her for a while which if you know Riley is a big deal! She rarely lets anyone other than mommy or daddy hold her!

More train exhibit!

A rare family photo!
