It finally happened. I can't say I didn't see it coming! I have spent so much time on my computer writing, designing, photo editing, etc...for a few years now...that I hit a wall so to speak. One day I was freaking out because my computer was having a fit (I'd almost swear it was PMSing) and we had no internet and the next I walk up to it and am almost repulsed. No desire to check email, no desire to upload pictures and edit them, no desire to update the blog or even read another one for that matter, no facebook, nothing.
I was midway through designing my website for photography and even that was put on hold. I felt...full, too full. Combined with that I felt an overwhelming urge to do two things, spend time outside and read. I am by nature an outdoorsy person and also an avid reader. The cold chaotic winter months pretty much put a halt to both and my brain and body had had enough of the dry spell.
Needless to say we spent a lot of time outdoors last week and I devoured 4 big but easy read books. Finally relief!
If it wasn't for my insatiable desire to write combined with my incurable compulsion to talk about my kids I wouldn't be on my computer now.
Definitely enlightening. I realized (not that I ever doubted) that I was just not designed to sit still and blank and I was almost angry with myself that I let my stupor last so long. I am sure the remainder of the week I will be burning the adrenaline back into my system via a few good runs.
I know I am not the only one excited to have a bit of sunshine back. The kids are nearly to a point of no control when it comes to playing outside. Today when we got home from our errands I got out and unlocked the front door and let the kids out of the car. In the time it took me to walk back to the car to empty it of my purse and lunch leftovers and return to the house the kids had scattered. The back door was open, the garage door was open, the dog was running loose in the street and I had to scramble around to gather everyone back to get them in a central location. I'll definitely be on my toes this summer! Can't wait!
And now for the customary onslaught of pictures...
We took the kids to play mini golf one beautiful afternoon. The kids loved it but they don't exactly play by the rules!
Can't you see the excitement on Daniella's face?! She was thrilled to sit down and take this picture!
You know I honestly have no idea what that is on the ground there! I thought it was leaf when I took the picture but it looks a little fishy now!
This is a place that the kids will soon be very familiar with...the future (tentatively) home of their grandparents. There is A LOT of space for them to run wild and they already gave it a test run!

This little lady bug entertained the kids for a full hour before I made them put the terrified creature back on the ground. They were a little surprised and upset that "Katie" didn't stick around but I assured them there would be more to play with in the future!
Who needs a weed killer when you've got Joshua! Him and Riley have uprooted nearly every wildflower growing in the yard.
**I know this is gross!
Sorry to put in such an unsettling picture! Earlier today the kids unearthed one of these and drug me out telling me about their "cute" new buggy friend. I walked out expecting another lady bug or butterfly but instead saw one of these in a homemade bed of grass. I have an iron stomach. It is nearly impossible to gross me out but I must say this thing sent chills down my spine. Ugh! I made them throw it back in the yard and followed up with a mandatory hand washing and sanitizing. Blah, still makes me cringe!
I'll post the link for the photography website later this week. I managed to get my hands on a template that I am sure no one else has and I am so excited about it. One step closer to the big goal! Yippee!
