Who needs fish...

when you've got Jason to "call" dolphins to you? The first item on the agenda every morning at Sea World was to visit the dolphins. The dolphins were always extra playful (or so it seemed) in the mornings, especially right before 11 am (feeding time). The dolphins would swim and play and occasionally bob up from the water to see the excited spectators but rarely actually go up to people that don't have a fish for them.

Jason tested a trick of sorts, using hand signals that the dolphins recognize to call them over. It worked! Not only would they swim up to him, they would linger, letting him pet them and giving the kids a chance to reach and touch them as well. Unfortunately this isn't exactly a great thing as this could jeopardize the dolphins' training so we kept the calls to a strict minimum.

Everyone got a chance to feed fish to the dolphins which strangely I don't think we could ever tire of! Dolphins are among my absolute favorite animals on the planet! I love that they seem to have a permanent smile on their faces and even in their down time seem to be so happy. It is no wonder that children love them!

Behold, the dolphin whisperer!
